Will report to: Interim Chief Medical Officer

ABOUT MEDICINES360:

Medicines360 is a nonprofit pharmaceutical and medical device development organization focused on advancing equitable access to women's health innovations. This volunteer internship offers a rising high school senior the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the product development process for medical devices, while completing a guided research project in digital womens health.

Responsibilities:

• Research academic publications, clinical trials, and white papers using PubMed and online sources
• Identify companies, nonprofits, or academic institutions developing AI-enabled technology-enhanced medical devices
• Summarize the intended uses, development stage, and technology types (e.g., image analysis, triage support)
• Highlight any regulatory submissions, commercial products, or early clinical studies
• Organize findings into a clear and well-structured PowerPoint presentation
• At the end of the Volunteer internship, the student will submit a final slide deck

Requirements:

• Basic verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

By the end of this volunteer internship:

• Understand the key steps in medical device development, from concept through commercialization
• Gain basic familiarity with regulatory science, clinical research, and AI-driven innovation
• Build core research skills including literature review, data synthesis, and source evaluation
• Practice using tools such as PubMed, PowerPoint, and basic generative AI research assistants
• Strengthening communication skills including scientific writing, public speaking, and presentation design
