About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Friends and Membership to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy that fosters meaningful relationships, deepens affiliation, and significantly expands the organization's reach. The successful candidate will be a visionary and entrepreneurial leader, responsible for driving the Friends of MPR initiative, which is a top priority for the organization. This role requires a data-driven strategist with a proven track record in multi-channel marketing, and a relentless focus on execution to achieve ambitious goals. The Vice President will be expected to innovate, expand the organization's reach, and execute creative strategies to grow membership, and loyalty revenue, and amplify impact. Key responsibilities include leading the Friends of MPR initiative, developing partnerships, and digital campaigns, and collaborating across departments to enhance visibility and nurture prospects. The role also involves strategic leadership, people management, and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity in both workplace relationships and audience engagement. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in driving fundraising or consumer-based revenue growth, with a strong emphasis on digital strategies. They should be adept at using modern tech stacks, including CRM, data analytics, and digital outreach tools, and have a proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The Vice President will be expected to have a deep understanding of engaging diverse community stakeholders and to be an inspiring communicator with exceptional storytelling skills. A background in local media organizations and content-driven membership programs is highly valued. The role demands a proactive problem-solver, an inspiring communicator, and a leader who can galvanize populations around a shared purpose.
