American Traveler is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist with GE MRI expertise and ARRT certification for a dynamic imaging role.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a hospital setting and breast care center with 2 GE MRI machines—one wide bore and one standard, both 1.5 Tesla
  • Provides MRI services for a varied patient population, including transitions between main hospital and breast care center
  • Performs MRI scans using upgraded, state-of-the-art equipment installed within the last two years
  • Responsible for starting IVs and administering contrast for imaging procedures
  • Afternoon schedule with two 16-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift per week
  • Opportunity to pick up holiday and on-call shifts if desired
  • Responsible for daily MRI modality operations and imaging according to protocols
  • Ensures magnetic resonance safety for patients and staff
  • Confirms quality and accuracy of patient and procedural data
  • Selects MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters as directed
  • Assists with training and oversight of new staff and MRI students
  • Provides detailed patient care instructions before, during, and after procedures
  • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and communicates with maintenance as needed
  • Pass/fail EKG testing required on the first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides provided
  • Local candidates are accepted, with a 50-mile radius rule for eligibility

  • Minimum of 2 years MRI experience required
  • Experience with GE MRI systems required
  • Certification and registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology and Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required or must be obtained within one year of hire
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
  • Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institution preferred
  • Experience in a hospital MRI department preferred
  • Familiarity with EPIC EHR and PACS preferred
  • License required if applicable
