Job Details
- The Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages, employees and designated areas of the hospital.
- Pharmacist practice shall be carried out in accordance with all state/federal and DEA laws, TJC Standards, and hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
- Responsibilities include collaboration with Physicians on drugs and dosing, education of nursing staff, patients and physicians regarding medications, Medication Safety initiatives, patient profiles, avoidance and reporting of adverse drug reaction, mixing of IV admixtures and nutritional supplements and narcotic accountability.
- Inpatient acute hospital experience required.
- Board Certified and/or accredited pharmacy residency preferred but not required.
Job Requirements
- Required: ACLS & BLS certifications.
- Arizona Pharmacist License required.
- Inpatient acute hospital experience required.
- 2 years recent hospital pharmacist staffing experience required to work independently.
- Sterile compounding experience needed.
Schedule Information
- Shift: 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off: 8:00p - 7:00a.
- The Pharmacist will work Wednesday through Tuesday.
- No On Call.
- No option for 48 hour Guarantee.
- No option for Blocked Scheduling.
- Houghton Pharmacy will be open on CHS Recognized holidays.
Additional Details
- Required vs Preferred Skills/Experience: 2 years recent hospital pharmacist staffing, required to work independently.
- Clean, smoke-free well light, healthcare work environment.
- Considerable video display exposure and use of keyboard.
- Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.
- Subject to many interruptions and frequent pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
- Must be able to work independently and meet multiple project deadlines.
- In clinical settings, exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness), subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
- May perform emergency care; requires judgment/action which affect the health, well-being and positive outcomes for patients and employees.
- Operational and people management skills that result in patient satisfaction, ongoing quality improvement and employee engagement of a diverse population.
- Proven success at working collaboratively with all stakeholders to meet key goals.
