About the Role
RJ Wright & Sons is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Transportation Dispatcher to manage daily dispatching and routing of our tractor trailer tankers for the wholesale fuel division. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and efficient fuel deliveries to wholesale customers, company-owned bulk plants, and partner dealers.
This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely, including off-hours and weekend coverage, while maintaining
regular in-office collaboration in Newcomerstown, OH.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, dispatch, and route a small fleet of tractor trailers for daily fuel deliveries.
• Collaborate closely with the Fuel Supply Manager to ensure contract and delivery obligations are met.
• Provide daily load sheets and clear communication to the billing department to ensure timely and accurate invoicing
• Act as the first point of contact for drivers, answering questions and resolving any issues that arise during deliveries.
• Monitor and adjust dispatch schedules in real time as needed due to changes in supply, demand, or logistics.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity and communicate updates to relevant internal teams.
• Use Microsoft Office Suite and other internal systems to manage and track dispatch operations.
Qualifications
• Prior experience in dispatching, transportation logistics, or fleet coordination preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
• Effective communicator — comfortable working across departments and interacting with drivers and leadership
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word).
• Ability to work off-hours and weekends as dispatch coverage requires.
Preferred Skills
• Experience within the fuel or petroleum industry.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations specifically related to fuel hauling.
