Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time 1:1 Special Education teaching opportunity is available within a K-12 school environment in the New Orleans, LA area. This contract position runs through the 2025-2026 school year, with an immediate start and an end date of May 22, 2026. The successful candidate will support a student in a dedicated one-on-one setting, providing tailored instruction and support according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and interventions for students with special needs in a 1:1 classroom setting
• Collaborate with school staff and families to meet student goals and adapt teaching strategies
• Monitor and document student progress, maintaining compliance with district and state regulations
• Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment tailored to individual student requirements
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as required

Qualifications:

• Current, active Louisiana Department of Education Special Education teaching certification (no expired or pending renewal licenses)
• Experience working with K-12 students with special education needs, preferably in 1:1 settings
• Ability to begin work immediately and contribute from day one
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Location & Schedule:

• Position located in New Orleans, Louisiana
• Full-time schedule, approximately 35 hours per week (7 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch), Monday through Friday following the school calendar

This is a contract role requiring candidates to be fully licensed and prepared to provide exceptional individualized support from the start. Pre-screening will be conducted prior to district consideration.
