Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A rewarding contract position is available for a licensed Special Education Teacher specializing in high school students with mild to moderate disabilities. This full-time role, based in Portland, OR, offers an opportunity to provide crucial support in a learning center/resource classroom environment. The position involves working with a caseload of approximately 30 students, helping them develop essential academic and life skills tailored to their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for high school students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Deliver instruction and support in a resource classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with paraeducators and other support staff to ensure effective student supervision and care.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and school personnel.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Oregon Special Education License for high school mild/moderate disabilities.
  • Experience working with high school students in a similar special education setting.
  • Strong skills in individualized instruction and behavior management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Location: Portland, OR
Schedule: Full-time, 35-40 hours per week
Setting: High school learning center/resource room
