Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Senior Welder to help support the SACSS program in Chula Vista , California.

This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided.

Must be a US Citizen

Job Description:

• Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.

• Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.

• Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.

• Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to positions pieces requiring welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps.

• Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.

• Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced welders.

• May serve as a team leader.

• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

• Participates in special projects, as required.

Requirements:

• US Citizen

• HS/GED

• Technical or vocational training

• 5+ years of experience, including Pipe welding

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.81 - $40.33. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
