About Autzu

Autzu is a cutting-edge mobility tech company revolutionizing the ridesharing industry by providing electric car-sharing services to rideshare drivers. We are scaling rapidly across North America, with active operations in the U.S. and Canada, and future expansion into new markets. Our mission is to advance sustainable transportation while empowering drivers with accessible, affordable, and reliable EV mobility solutions.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Operations Manager to oversee and scale Autzu’s business operations across all active and future markets. Based in San Francisco, this senior leader will play a critical role in shaping Autzu’s operational strategy, ensuring market success, and driving cross-functional collaboration across Fleet, Customer Success, and Marketing teams.

This is a high-visibility role reporting directly into senior leadership, with responsibilities spanning fleet performance, vendor management, team leadership, and expansion strategy. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, scaling environments and has the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Oversight: Manage operational performance across all active Autzu markets (U.S. and Canada), ensuring consistent excellence in fleet operations, driver experience, and profitability.
  • New Market Expansion: Lead planning and execution for new market launches — hiring and onboarding local teams, establishing processes, and ensuring launch readiness.
  • Location & Vendor Strategy: Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and parking/charging providers to optimize hub strategy and cost efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Customer Success and Marketing teams to maximize fleet utilization, enhance driver satisfaction, and drive retention.
  • Team Leadership: Develop and implement training programs for Fleet Coordinators and local operations teams. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee fleet health and performance; ensure best practices in EV maintenance, acquisition, and remarketing.
  • Strategic Reporting: Deliver regular reports to senior leadership on market performance, budgets, utilization rates, and strategic initiatives.
  • High-Level Issue Management: Serve as a point of escalation for operational challenges and ensure market-level teams have the resources and support to succeed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management (preferably in mobility, fleet, rideshare, logistics, or EV-related industries).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven track record managing multi-location operations and scaling teams.
  • Strong understanding of the rideshare industry, EV technology, and fleet operations.
  • Experience with business-to-business negotiations, partnerships, and vendor management.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to work hands-on when necessary (vehicle diagnostics, light maintenance, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary $80,000–$130,000+ base + potential bonus & equity opportunities .
  • Professional development and growth opportunities.
  • Monthly team events and a collaborative, mission-driven culture.
  • Opportunity to play a pivotal role in building a fast-growing, sustainability-focused startup.
