Job Summary Job Title: Senior Functional Safety Engineer Location: Normal, IL Zip Code: 61761 Duration: 5 months Pay Rate: $57.23/hr Start Date: Immediate Responsibilities Work with engineering, operations and equipment vendors for design and commissioning activities Conduct Equipment Safety Buyoffs with a cross-functional team Complete Risk Assessments in accordance with ISO 12100 and Client standards Develop equipment safety standards where needed and continuously improve existing standards Identify safety opportunities and suggest corrective actions for continuous improvement Create and deliver training related to equipment and machinery safety Maintain detailed records of equipment compliance and work with department EHS staff to support as needed Participate in learning teams, investigations, inspections, audits, etc. as needed Required Qualifications Demonstrated familiarity with mechanical, electrical, automation, and control system design Experience with ANSI, UL, NFPA, ISO and other applicable standards Experience interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic safety circuits and evaluating performance level & circuit structure Comprehensive knowledge of electrical circuit design in accordance with NEC, UL 508a, and NFPA 79 Preferred Qualifications Certified Functional Safety Professional CFSP/CFSE Certified Machine Safety Expert Experience in Battery/EV Manufacturing Working knowledge of hazardous area classifications, occupancy classification, hazardous material inventories Additional Information Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Management and Manufacturing Industries: IT Services and IT Consulting Belcan is an equal opportunity employer.
