As a Security Officer - Unarmed Government Patrol - Full Time in SANTA CRUZ, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a valued member of the Allied Universal team, you will play a key role in providing a secure and welcoming environment at a government location. In this unarmed patrol post, your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the assigned area, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding to situations as they arise. You will also be expected to deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication to everyone you encounter. This position is primarily a driving post, so you will spend much of your shift traversing the location in a vehicle, observing and reporting any unusual activity. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related risks, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with the public, staff, and/or visitors while representing Allied Universal at the location.
  • Document incidents and daily activities according to company and client requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
