Roofing Accounting Assistant

The accounting assistant's main responsibilities will be, to support the Controller with accounting, financial, administrative, and operational functions, including accounts payable/receivable, basic HR duties, payroll, financial reporting, compliance, and other tasks as needed, to ensure a seamless day-to-day accounting process.
Essential Responsibilities
Administer AP/AR, payroll, cash management, daily bank deposits, customer collections, and reconciliations, as instructed.
Collaborate with the Controller to develop budgets, financial forecasts, and analyze variances.
Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and yearly financial statements.
In conjunction with the Controller, prepare year-end financial closeout and procedures.
Provide accurate maintenance of the company’s general ledger.
Maintain office supplies and assist with coordination of meetings and events.
Support human resources functions including benefits administration, files, and other tasks as directed.
Essential Requirements
Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
Familiarity with finance regulations
Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to work with others.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
