Scope:

The primary scope of a Host/Hostess at The Club at Las Campanas is to offer each member and their guest a warm and sincere welcome and departure, and support the Restaurant Captains, Bartenders, Restaurant Manager and Supervisors to create a memorable experience for all members and their guest.

This is a Seasonal Role for Summer 2025

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Follow Las Campanas Etiquette at all times while on property.
  • Proper Welcome and Farewells
  • Proper Phone Etiquette
  1. Understand proper seating arrangements.
  2. The correct number of clean and current menus available at all times.
  3. Changing out daily specials and special event materials.
  4. Knowledge of member's names and ability to use guest names.
  5. Assist in maintaining member/guest personal data and special requests.
  • Anniversaries/Birthdays/Life Events
  • Food/Allergens/Beverages/Dietary Needs
  • Table/Seating Arrangements
  1. Communicates special events, allergens or dietary request to team.
  2. Efficiently takes “take-out” orders and inputs into POS from guest/members.

9. Inspects cleanliness of entrance, lounge and restrooms and communicates to proper team.

12. Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area.

13. Develops and maintains positive working relationship with others.

15. Supports team to accomplish common goals.

16. Listens to members, guest and associates and responds appropriately.

17. Ensures adherence to quality expectations and standards.

19. Stand, sit or walk for a long period of time.

20. Move, push, pull, lift objects that weigh 25 pounds or less without assistance.

21. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisor.

22. Pass all written or verbal tests given by supervisors that encompass:

  • Club & Members
  • Etiquette & Performance Standards
  • Management, Staffing & Property
Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Relationships:

Internal: All Club departments: For effective communication.

External: Members/Guests: To provide excellent service.

Vendors: To purchase and receive goods.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Experience in full service fine dining environment.
  • Participate in training to enhance career development and technical areas of expertise.
  • Pass all written or verbal tests given by supervisors that encompass:
  • Club & Members, Etiquette & Performance Standards.
  • Menus, Ingredients & Preparation
  • Management, Staffing & Property

Certification and/or License Requirement:

  • High School diploma preferred.

Skills:

  • Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
  • Position requires a highly professional demeanor, adaptability, flexibility and adherence to a strict level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work as a team player and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Able to work all shifts, days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.

Physical/Cognitive Activities:

  • Requires ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to operate and handle a wine opener and coffee machine.
  • Ability to work with flammable materials and toxic cleaning chemicals as well as sharp knives and other objects.
  • Ability to move about freely on a multi-floor building.
