Perform the duties of front desk, including greeting guests, answering questions, providing directions, performing check-ins and checkouts and coordinating with other units to fulfill guest requests. Creates and maintains reservations and daily business reports. Assist with training and orientation of support staff. Interacts with hotel and potential customers and hotel staff.
All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a high school education; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in hotel reservations; to include experience with computerized hotel accounting and reservation systems, negotiation of room and block rates, preparation of standard hotel reports, direct customer service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications: One year of hotel front desk experience or equivalent customer service and data management experience.

Work Hours: Sunday through Thursday 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday off. Home football game week hours Tuesday - Saturday 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.; days off will vary based on the needs of the operation.
