COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY - ASSOCIATE COUNSEL

LOCATION: MIAMI, FL

Hybrid work schedule with 3 days on site and 1-2 days remote after 90 days of employment

SALARY: 150K + 10% performance-based bonus

Rapidly growing real estate management and investment firm is seeking a mid-level Attorney with the following background, to join their legal department in Miami. The firm excels in property management, leasing, lease administration, development, and strategic asset oversight, ensuring value optimization for owners and tenants alike. Their team is expanding to support new acquisitions, development projects, and long-term partnerships, creating exciting opportunities for professional growth.

SUMMARY

• Approx 2-3+ years' experience in Commercial Real Estate and Contract Law
• Expertise in lease review, interpretation and negotiation, transaction management, risk mitigation and supporting development agreements.
• Collaborate with various individuals to ensure lease compliance and risk mitigation.
• Work closely with outside counsel, lenders, and development partners to facilitate transactions, acquisitions and agreements.
• Assist in negotiating Letters of Intent (LOIs), Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSAs), and Loan Documents for new acquisitions.
• Work with outside counsel, lenders, brokers, and investment partners to manage deal flow, due diligence, and closing processes.
• Monitor critical deadlines, contingencies, and deliverables to keep transactions on schedule.
• Support the negotiation and structuring of development agreements for new projects.
• Assist in reviewing joint venture agreements, construction agreements, and entitlements related to development projects.
• Monitor regulatory and compliance requirements for development projects.
• Ensure lease agreements, transaction documents, and development agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Assist in resolving disputes related to leases, transactions, or development projects.
• Identify and mitigate potential legal risks across leasing, transactions, and development partnerships.
• Serve as a legal resource for the property management, leasing, acquisitions, and development teams.
• Communicate effectively with owners, tenants, brokers, lenders, contractors, and third-party advisors to align negotiations with business objectives.
• Support corporate legal matters related to real estate, including asset management, financing, and disposition strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida Bar or eligibility for in-house counsel status.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate law, with a focus on leasing, transactions, and development agreements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
