TITLE CTE and Regular Classroom Teacher
REPORTS TO Building Principal and Director of College and Career Readiness
POSITION SUMMARY
The classroom Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher under the direction of the Building Principal and Director of College and Career Readiness will create a program and class environment favorable to the learning and personal growth of students which facilitates student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district-approved curriculum aligned with the state frameworks for the CTE program area; motivate students to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in life and establish good relationships and rapport with students parents and staff members. The teacher will document student progress activities and outcomes; address specific educational needs of students; and provide feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations and goals. The teacher will maintain professional competence through in-service education coursework and professional growth activities to maintain and update appropriate CTE certification.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
This is a sedentary position with light work that involves sitting a portion of the time but does require walking and standing for extended periods. This position requires accurate perception of sound near and far vision depth perception; handling and working with educational and psychological materials; and providing highly technical oral and written information and reports.
The job is performed with the majority of the spent indoors and under minimal temperature variations; a portion of the day will be time spent outdoors and is subject to a variety of changing weather conditions and potentially uneven/slippery surfaces.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
This position is that of classroom teacher and is represented by the Monroe Education Association collective bargaining unit. The position will work a schedule in coordination with the District student calendar. Salary and benefits as determined by the current collective bargaining agreement. Employee is required to complete all mandatory district training.
EVALUATION PROCEDURES
The classroom teacher shall be evaluated by the Building Principal or the Director of College and Career Readiness according to currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria. The process shall include an evaluation of the employees performance of the above position responsibilities.
