About the Role
Total Rehab Kids is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic pediatric therapy team. Working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT), you will play a key role in helping children improve strength, mobility, coordination, and independence through individualized treatment plans.
This position involves carrying out therapy sessions, monitoring patient progress, documenting outcomes, and empowering families with education and home exercise programs. By creating a positive, supportive environment, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families while contributing to their long-term success.
Minimum QualificationsCompletion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current state licensure or certification as a PTA in Texas.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience working in a pediatric, outpatient, or rehabilitation setting.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills to better serve a diverse patient population.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Additional certifications in specialized pediatric therapy techniques.
Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients.
Conduct therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities to improve function, strength, and mobility.
Monitor and document patient progress accurately; report concerns to supervising PT.
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment, ensuring equipment is sanitized and functional.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with children and families.
Patience, empathy, and creativity to engage pediatric patients in therapy.
Attention to detail for accurate progress monitoring and documentation.
Physical stamina and strength for assisting with therapeutic activities and equipment.
Team-oriented mindset with a passion for helping kids achieve their goals.
