The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Office Technician with strong public relations and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, and will be comfortable supporting a wide range of administrative functions in a professional setting.

Under the general direction of a Supervising Special Investigator II or his/her designee, the Office Technician performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Regional Office. The incumbent is expected to consistently exercise good judgement and a high degree of initiative in performing assigned tasks. The incumbent must also be able to perform support duties with minimal supervision and at times, work under pressure to meet deadlines. Typical duties of the Office Technician include, but are not limited to: composing and typing various correspondence, delivering and retrieving files, sort incoming/outgoing mail, and gathering and compiling information for data entry. The Office Technician must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the general public and work cooperatively with others.

Special Requirements
The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.
