Founded in 1980, Rentex is one of the largest and most established providers of audio visual, computer, and production rental equipment in the nation. We supply many of the nation’s largest companies with complete audio visual and computer rental equipment and services. Each Rentex warehouse contains a large inventory of high-quality, name-brand, and reliable audio visual & computer rental equipment. We have offices across the US and we are growing!
Rentex’s Department of Transportation has an opening for our first National Transportation Coordinator. This role will support the equipment delivery and pickup efforts of our 10 branches nationwide—which includes up to 50+ vehicles. Approximately half of our rental orders are picked up or delivered by our employees in our fleet of vehicles—which range in size from cargo vans to 26’ straight trucks. The best candidate has a strong penchant for safety and always acts in accordance with Federal, State and Local laws. We need someone who understands the importance of education, and has experience creating training programs. The person in this role will be a trail blazer and will help build the Department of Transportation, but also is a stickler for details and procedure. You’ll have the chance to help evolve policies and practices, and you’ll need to be creative with administering adherence on a National Level.
This job will be difficult at times. Rentex’s biggest trucking problems across the country will land on your desk. We deliver for our clients 24/7, and our Department of Transportation supports our drivers around the clock and on weekends. The work move fast here and you’ll have to move fast as well. You must be a quick learner and take initiative and take full responsibility of compliance. The initial learning curve is very steep, because there is a high volume of email and you’ll have to learn our processes. Our whole business depends on our fleet being safe and our drivers being compliant…and that is a big responsibility. And, we’ve never had a transportation coordinator before—so you’ll have to roll up your sleeves on day-one. Our best team members arrive early, stay until the work is done, clean up after themselves, and stand by their work.
