Microsoft Project Subject Matter Expert (Contract – Short Term)

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Clearance Requirement: Active DoD Secret Clearance

Contract: IRES (Integrated Research & Development for Enterprise Services)

Salary: $80,000 – $189,162 DOE (Hourly/Contract Equivalent)

Overview:

OSAAVA Services is seeking a Microsoft Project Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a short-duration, contract-based assignment supporting the IRES contract in Colorado Springs, CO. This expert will provide critical backend support to configure, troubleshoot, and stabilize large, complex Microsoft Project files—including subproject syncing and integration challenges. Once resolved, this role will convert to on-call/as-needed support .

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced backend configuration and integration of complex MS Project files with large subprojects.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to syncing, dependencies, and schedule structuring.
• Ensure clean task sequencing, accurate calendars, and stable performance for large-scale project plans.
• Set up templates, rules, and structures for long-term project management success.
• Provide documentation and support guidance before transitioning to an on-call/as-needed support model.

Essential Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application.
• Deep technical understanding of Microsoft Project backend configuration , including task relationships, linking subprojects, calendar synchronization, and resource settings.
• Experience building and maintaining integrated master schedules (IMS) in high-complexity environments.
• Ability to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve software and structural issues within MS Project.
• Strong communication skills with ability to interface across technical and project management teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP, PMI-SP, or similar certification.
• Familiarity with DoD environments , particularly IRES or similar government programs.
• Knowledge of additional scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6) is a plus.

Engagement Type:

• Short-Term Contract (To be discussed at interview)
• On-site preferred (Colorado Springs, CO), hybrid options considered for highly qualified individuals.
• Position may shift to ad hoc/on-demand support after initial stabilization period.
