Location: New York, NY
Salary Range: $121,000 – $150,000

We’re seeking a skilled Legal Compliance Manager to lead and strengthen our compliance infrastructure as we scale.

About the Role:
As our Legal Compliance Manager, you will ensure that our operations, products, marketing, and retail activities remain fully compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with legal, operations, HR, quality, and executive leadership to proactively identify risks and promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage company-wide compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Advise on food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, FSMA), labeling requirements, and retail-specific obligations.
• Manage compliance issues related to marketing, advertising, and packaging claims.
• Monitor and interpret evolving laws in food, beverage, alcohol (if applicable), and retail sectors.
• Support contract review and negotiation related to suppliers, co-packers, and retail partners.
• Serve as primary liaison for regulatory audits, certifications, and inquiries.
• Lead internal compliance audits and risk assessments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; JD or legal background strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of legal or compliance experience in the food, beverage, or retail industry.
• Deep understanding of FDA, FTC, USDA, TTB (if applicable), and state/local regulatory frameworks.
• Experience working with cross-functional business teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to distill legal issues into practical, business-friendly solutions.
