Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • At least Five (5) to seven (7) years of Family Law experience.
  • A fast learner, pro-active professional who can anticipate needs and ask follow-up questions
  • Extremely organized, detailed oriented, and ability to work well with strict deadlines
  • Very proficient with all Court Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Ability to handle heavy and detailed calendars for both Partners and Associates
  • Comfortable with profiling documents in Document Management systems
  • Excellent communication skills among team members, Court staff and Third-Party vendors.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Open, maintain, and close client files with accuracy in accordance with firm policies.
  • Track and manage voluminous deadlines, court hearings, and statutory timelines.
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files in NetDocs.
  • Answer phones, screen calls, and relay messages accurately and timely. 
  • Perform billing entry and timekeeping for attorney review. 
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, email correspondence with accuracy.

Legal Support:

  • Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, declarations, subpoenas, stipulations, and settlement agreements.
  • File legal documents with courts electronically in Circuit, Appellate and Federal Courts.
  • Schedule and maintain court dates, mediation, depositions, and attorney-client appointments.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including assembling trial binders, witness lists, and exhibits.

Client Relations:

  • Communicate with clients regarding case updates, documentation, and appointments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive family law matters.
  • Assist clients in completing the required legal forms (e.g., financial disclosures, declarations of income and expenses).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Office onsite with potential for hybrid work, based on firm policy.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $65k – $77k/year based on experience.

  • Benefits may include health insurance, 401(k), PTO.
