Position: Surveyor-in-Training (S.I.T.)

Location: Houston - 100% in office position

Our client has been providing surveying services in Houston and surrounding areas for over 25 years. Their clients include some of the largest developers in TX, engineering firms, architects, utility contractors, local Municipal Utility Districts and several other public sector entities. Due to massive growth they are looking for a Surveyor-in-Training to assist their lead RPLS in a variety of surveying services. This is a tremendous opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities

• Process data collected via Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to obtain necessary results
• Prepare tentative and final tract maps, parcel maps, Record of Survey maps, ALTA maps, corner records, right-of-way maps, and similar documents from a variety of source documents and data
• Read and understand title commitments, engineering and architectural plans
• Processes and reviews survey data for completeness and accuracy
• Maintains close communications with the RPLS to report survey progress, problems with and possible resolution to pertinent issues hampering project survey completion

Qualifications

• Associates in land surveying or equivalent experience, required
• B.S. Degree in land surveying is a plus
• S.I.T. registered in Texas is a huge plus
• 3 years minimum surveying experience
• Extensive office/drafting experience. Must be able to complete a boundary drawing on day 1.
• Must be knowledgeable in the methods and techniques of cross-country utility surveying
• Must have knowledge in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) survey methods, electronic data collection, the processes and computer programs necessary for survey data review and transfer to mapping
