HR Generalist | Spring Lake, MI

Salary Range: $57,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for production, skilled trades, and administrative roles.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA regulations specific to manufacturing.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application across all shifts.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, focusing on safety protocols and job-specific training requirements.
  • Support performance management processes, including performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Assist with benefits administration, payroll processing, and workers' compensation claims management.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience as an HR Generalist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including OSHA regulations and compliance in a plant setting.
  • Proven ability in employee relations, conflict resolution, and conducting HR investigations for an hourly workforce.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and managing HR data, payroll, and benefits administration in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation processes, safety programs, and recruitment for manufacturing roles.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety best practices.
  • Experience supporting lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
  • Familiarity with HRIS/timekeeping systems used for shift work and production environments.
