HR Generalist | Norton Shores, MI

Salary Range: $56,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for production, technical, and administrative roles, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as company policies, particularly those related to safety and manufacturing operations.
  • Administer HR programs such as performance management, compensation, benefits, and leave management (e.g., FMLA, workers' compensation).
  • Coordinate and facilitate essential training programs, including safety, compliance, and skills development for manufacturing personnel.
  • Support a safe working environment by collaborating with EHS and managing workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and utilize HRIS for data management, reporting, and analytics.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including OSHA regulations and workers' compensation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, performance management, and high-volume recruitment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with all levels of employees, from plant floor to leadership.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll processing in a multi-shift environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with common manufacturing HRIS and timekeeping systems (e.g., Kronos, SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and experience supporting safety initiatives.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to support a diverse workforce.
