Palmetto Bluff is nestled along the May River in the Lowcountry of South Carolina between Hilton Head Island and Savannah. As an award winning 20,000 acre development, the development encompasses a private member’s only club which includes a marina, restaurants, an equestrian center, a shooting club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, a reversible 9 hole course by King Collins, a new 18 hole course by Coore-Crenshaw, a lawn and racquet club, and more. In addition, Palmetto Bluff has an extensive nature preserve, walking trails, retail shopping, and a vibrant village, all which pay homage to the region’s rich heritage. This position will be on the new Coore-Crenshaw course and assisting with the establishment of the new turf and natural areas.

Job Summary:

Daily course maintenance is an important function of the golf course management staff, providing an essential service to members and guest. Maintenance that is properly executed will enhance the member/guest experience, allowing for an enjoyable round of golf. As we perform maintenance, it is critical we have a keen eye for detail such as litter, debris, tire tracks, etc.

Essential Functions:

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

• Proficient in all duties of Level I Technicians
• Operate pull behind Debris Blowers
• Mow Fairways
• Mow Rough
• Mow Approaches
• Mow Tees
• Roll Greens
• Mow Croquet Courts
• Any other duty as required by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills; team orientated
• Desire to serve and create lifelong memories
• Previous experience in GCM desired
• Love for the game of golf preferred
• Ability to comprehend instructions given in English or Spanish
• Ability to work 5-7 days a week, weekends and holidays
• Perform job responsibilities and operate equipment according to the company safety and training programs

Physical Requirements:

• Majority of tasks are performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, including hot, cold, windy and rainy.
• Temperatures can be extreme but are usually moderate.
• Frequently works near moving/mechanical parts.
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands, bend and stoop, remain at post standing for periods of time, walk for a long distance, and is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
