Ashley Furniture HomeStore, the #1 Mattress and Furniture retailer in North America, has an immediate opening for a Distribution Center Furniture Deluxer. The DC Furniture Deluxer is responsible for prepping and minor touch-up work of furniture in delivery lanes to ensure it meets the quality and minimum prep standards.

Pay: $17.50 per hour

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

\n

\n
• \n

  Inspect and complete touch-up and minor repairs to all prepped furniture to ensure they meet the quality standards

  \n
\n
• \n

  Restore products to like-new conditions using proven techniques, including refinishing and applying toners, highlights, or glazes to obtain desired finish to the products

  \n
\n
• \n

  Assist with the prep of all furniture to meet delivery standards

  \n
\n
• Applying lacquer or other sealers as required/needed
\n
• Clean and polish furniture
\n
• Understand, follow, and ensure compliance with all safe work practices and rules
\n
• Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
\n
• Other duties as assigned
\n

\n

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES :

\n

\n
• High School Diploma is required
\n
• 1 year of hand and power tool experience
\n
• 1 year of furniture product knowledge preferred
\n
• Must possess strong attention to detail
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
\n
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
\n
• Driver’s License Required
\n
• A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required
\n
• Some exposure to solvents
\n

\n

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

\n

\n
• Routinely lift and carry objects up to 25-100 lbs. and assist lift 101 lbs. or more
\n
• Ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting and using both hands for repetitive tasks
\n
• Able to conduct physical work in warm and cold conditions
\n
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
\n
• Operates various equipment and tools
\n
• Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to
  adjust focus to read reports, view computer screen, etc.
\n
• Work environments include office spaces, warehouses, and occasionally, retail/distribution locations that may be under construction/remodel
\n
