Based in the corporate office, this individual manages event marketing communication and project management for AssetMark, Inc., which supports financial advisors nationwide with investment and practice management solutions. This role leads the strategic direction of their department. Drives priorities and overall planning. Executes some large-scale projects and spends most time on strategy and team development. Meets regularly with other department leaders and ensures stakeholder satisfaction and clarity. Responsible for the professional development of each team member. Manages budget decisions and implications for department needs and may run their own cost center. Owns their department's overall direction, team assignments, and project direction. Brings and develops a culture of high accountability, innovation, strategic focus, and a high level of execution. Operates with a value system based on connection and relationship building. This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities include developing, socializing, and implementing a comprehensive deployment and strategy for the firm's centralized event management team aligned to company goals and objectives; influencing and collaborating with cross-functional leaders to ensure event management and execution align with brand standards and company goals; staying on top of event trends and innovation; delivering and refreshing the business case for event centralization; overseeing annual event spending and budget tracking; fostering partnerships with internal and external groups; leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of event and program managers; overseeing planning and execution of all corporate events; creative concepting design of events; mentoring junior team members; understanding content management and cross-functional deployment; curating event approach and strategy; managing vendors and timelines; leading executive strategy presentations; managing project plans and timelines; monitoring event experiences and quality; understanding event survey metrics; collaborating with internal stakeholders; representing the company at industry events and conferences. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include extensive experience leading a centralized corporate events function at a large public company, ability to lead cross-functional teams, executive presence, proven ability to build and implement enterprise-wide business cases, data-driven and results-oriented mindset, strategic problem solving, working knowledge of SalesForce.com and timeline management tools like Wrike. Education and experience required include a bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent; 8+ years of work experience building and leading strong teams; 8+ years of experience creating high-profile events; proficiency in Microsoft Office; travel approximately 30% per year; previous financial services industry experience a plus; CMP Certification. Compensation includes a base salary range of $130,000-$190,000 plus additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
