Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial operations and help scale the business through its next phase of growth. The CFO will be a key strategic partner to the CEO and the board, driving financial planning, fundraising, operational excellence, and investor relations. Prior experience in energy is not required; we are seeking a leader who has successfully scaled finance functions within technology, SaaS, infrastructure, or growth-stage companies .

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a key strategic advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and board of directors.
  • Lead the long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Optimize financial structure to support scaling operations domestically and internationally.

Financial Operations & Controls

  • Oversee all financial operations, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain best-in-class internal controls, financial systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and ensure financial discipline across the business.
  • Support pricing strategy, margin improvement initiatives, and cost management.

Capital Markets & Fundraising

  • Lead equity and/or debt fundraising efforts to support growth and working capital needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, and strategic financial partners.
  • Prepare board materials, financial analyses, and investor reports to support capital strategies.

Team Building & Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Select and implement scalable financial systems, tools, and automation solutions.

Strategic Partnerships & M&A

  • Support evaluation and execution of strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A opportunities.
  • Perform financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition financial management when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally including time at a venture-backed, PE-backed, or high-growth technology or infrastructure company.
  • Proven success scaling finance functions through periods of rapid growth.
  • Strong experience with capital markets, fundraising (Series B, C, D+), and/or debt financing.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS, software, hardware, or technology-driven business models a plus, but not required.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, operational mindset, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
