Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor Degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism or a related field or the equivalentX
  • Preferred: Master's degree

Experience:

  • Required: Ten (10) years of directly related experience in marketing and communications/public relations and strategic planning in a health care or similar setting.

Certification/License/Registry:

  • Required: None.

Responsibilities

Location: Tallahassee, FL 

As the Chief Communications Officer/VP you will play a pivotal role in the development and administration of a comprehensive communications program with all stakeholders for Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc.

The Chief Communications Officer/VP is responsible for: 

  • Acts as a special advisor to the President/Chief Executive Officer on a wide range of issues material to future success.
  • Effectively presents TMH’s story to the public.
  • Responsible for developing/implementing effective comprehensive communications strategies, plans and/or materials for TMH initiatives and/or departments and/or divisions.
  • Develops executive speeches/speech outlines.
  • Maintains TMH Brand.

  • Oversees production and development of all communication materials.
  • Understanding the connection between general organizational strategies and the communication tactics needed to support organizational goals and strategic plan.
  • Maintaining active participation/assumption of a leadership role in the strategic planning process, ensuring the effectiveness/success of the strategies developed, and ensuring the accuracy of the evaluation and related outcomes.

  • The effective identification of problems/issues and the appropriate and successful resolution of the problems/issues identified.

  • Effectively communicating important changes and information regarding local and national healthcare trends.

  • Actively represents Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. through participation in various community groups and professional associations.

  • Experience serving as the organizational spokesperson.

  • Knowledge of the local, state, and federal legislative processes and ability to identify opportunities for healthcare organization intervention.
