Job Description

Application Support Associate

ARTIDIS AG is a clinical-stage health-tech start-up founded in Basel, Switzerland, that has developed the first nanomechanical biomarker for cancer diagnosis and treatment optimization. The ARTIDIS nanotechnology platform integrates different types of clinical data into the ARTIDISNET digital platform, allowing physicians to significantly shorten the current diagnostic process and benefit both the patient and the healthcare system. ARTIDIS enables professionals to design personalized cancer treatment plans tailored to individual patients' needs and desired outcomes.

The Application Support Associate provides operational support for ARTIDIS systems used in clinical and academic environments. Working as part of the broader Application and Support Team, this role focuses on monitoring device usage, supporting measurement procedures, and assisting healthcare professionals and researchers during day-to-day operation of the system. The role includes on-site and remote support, with travel required (2040% depending on location in the USA or EU)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor ARTIDIS devices' operation at clinical and research sites.
  • Support measurement procedures and ensure correct handling of consumables.
  • Provide on-site, shadowing, and remote guidance to system users.
  • Act as the main contact during measurement days for operational support.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate to support teams when needed.
  • Document issues and coordinate follow-up with internal teams.
  • Deliver user training on-site and remotely.
  • Visit the sites to gather feedback to improve training materials and user experience.
  • Help update training documents (guides, videos, presentations).
  • Collaborate with the support team to refine workflows and documentation.
  • Support onboarding at clinical trial or early access sites.
  • Travel 2040% to support the service team, sometimes on short notice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pathology, Radiology, Oncology, or a related life sciences field (Master's or PhD is a strong advantage).
  • Experience in clinical, hospital, or academic research environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with tissue and cell sample handling is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to adapt language and approach when interacting with users from diverse clinical, research, and technical backgrounds.
  • Ability to explain procedures and protocols clearly and empathetically to non-specialist users.
  • Experience supporting or delivering user training, with a strong interest in improving training materials and user-facing documentation.
  • Comfortable working closely with R&D teams to translate user feedback into actionable insights.
  • Capable of contributing to usability studies, including collecting structured feedback and supporting study coordination.
  • Able to write or support the development of user requirements for research tools or regulated medical devices.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish) are an asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally (2040%) depending on project needs.

The environment is a typical start-up with an intrinsically motivated international team. Our company is an excellent place for rapid advancement and offers a promising opportunity to learn and share know-how in a very agile environment. The position requires the employee to go the extra mile when needed. We are looking for a team player who appreciates direct communication. The effort is rewarded with challenging tasks, the possibility to take responsibility, a highly driven team, and work serving a significant purpose. The job position comes with a competitive salary and a bonus for outstanding performance.
