We are searching for a skilled financial specialist to join the Controllership team based in Minneapolis. (Hybrid role) This key player will process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The AP specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track and on good terms with our valued partners.

Objectives of the Role

• Record, track and maintain up to date AP record through a complete understanding of accruals, prepaids.
• Understand on-boarding processing of new vendors and year end issuance if 1099 forms.
• Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process.
• Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
• Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry.
• Track and record credit card activity.
• Obtain approvals on all check releases.
• Mail distribution.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
• Superb time management skills and detail orientation.
• Experience in accounts payable (or accounts receivable).
• Experience with accounting software and online platforms.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information.
• Comply with national and local financial regulations.

Additional information

• Duration: 3-6 months contract (W2 or C2C).
• Rate: W2: $30 or C2C: $35/hr.
• Location: Open to remote. Preferred Minneapolis.
• Timezone: must be able to work Central or Eastern time.
• Requirements: must be authorized to work legally in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future.
